Purchasing Change: Transforming Profitability & Performance
PMMS set out to transfer the skills and knowledge to our client's staff so that they could continue to manage the company's supply markets without heavy ongoing support. The CEO said about this that "We have been delighted with the way that this transfer of skills has progressed." The Purchasing Change programme included the following deliverables: 1. Delivery of benefits through focusing on all areas of expenditure
2. Defining of competencies for Purchasing staff and delivering training programmes to develop skills that were required to meet the challenges faced by the company
3. Transfer of enhanced purchasing capability to staff through effective consultancy and coaching in both management of tactical and strategic marketplaces
4. Defining the policies and procedures necessary for Purchasing staff to ensure that non-Purchasing staff who spend money with suppliers, did so effectively
The results of the Purchasing Change programme for this PMMS client have been immediate in terms of the impact upon profitability and performance with significant reductions in their cost base, an increase in efficiency and improved levels of customer service.
